December was full of fun and adventures.
Regina decided to learn how to loom knit. She made a scarf for herself.
After eight months of working from home, Matthew was finally allowed to go back to the office. He was glad to get back to the office and the kids were happy to take over the office.
The girls got to have their beds unbunked and now are in the front bedroom. Kyle got to get out of the toddler bed which was way too small for him. Cody and Kyle are in the middle bedroom in a set of bunk beds. And lucky Bruce got his own room in the back bedroom. He does have to share it with my sewing stuff but he doesn't mind.
We went to the movie theater to watch Polar Express, a family favorite. Another movie adventure was a ward activity. They did a drive-in movie of Snowball Express. The kids thought it was so neat to hear the movie over the radio while we watched it through the front window of the van.
Regina and I made chocolate covered pretzel rods for the the first time. According to the kids, they were delicious.
It snowed and the kids had to get out in it before it melted.
Even though school in online, the kids had a dress up day. Bruce dressed up as the Grinch and Regina was Cindy Lou-Who.
To help get in to the Christmas spirit, we went to a couple of nativity activities. The highlight of the living nativity was the live camel.
We were gifted a gingerbread making kit. The kids had so much fun making and then eating their creations. This was the first time that no one was in tears at the end of this adventure.
The snow melted and we needed to have some winter fun, so we took Matthew's white socks and had a "snowball" fight. The kids thought it was the best snowball fight ever.
Jennie had a mini party with her piano teacher. She brought home a decorated cookie for each of us.
Since I knew that I was going to be spending most of Christmas in the kitchen cooking, we went to Shari's for Christmas Eve dinner. The kids love their chocolate chip pancakes.
Happy New Year 2021! We let the kids stay up until Midnight. They were so excited to so it. We knew a couple of them wouldn't make it, so we did poppers at 10 pm.
By 11:30pm...Bruce and Cody were fast asleep.
Midnight! We drank sparkling cider to ring in the new year.
Jennie watching the potato drop and the fireworks.
Kyle made it to midnight which I didn't expect would happen. He had a lot of energy.
We did it! We read the Book of Mormon in a year. We have read it before but this was the first time we did it in a year. We loved studying it and having meaningful conversations about the principles of the Gospel from it.
