May 2020 Fun

May has brought our family closer together since we have only each other for most of it with the exception of a quick visit from Grandparents and spending some time with cousins.

While Grandparents were here, we went to an iris garden. It was gorgeous to see the varieties and colors.

Lucky Peak Reservoir here we come. The weather was perfect for a day at the water. We spent an entire day with cousins playing in the water.

After years of hesitation, I finally cut my hair short.

Matthew took a day off from "getting" to work from home and we headed to the splash pad. The kids loved it.

We are so grateful for our shady backyard. We have spent lots of time playing in it this month. We bought a nice tree swing, a rainbow sprinkler, planted the garden, and even released a tube of ladybugs in it this month.

We went to a poetry tea party at the cousins house. It was fun to hear the poems that were read and surprisingly how many poems my kids knew especially Regina.

Kyle has been putting up a fuss about sleeping in his toddler bed recently. This was one of those nights. Hopefully, soon he will get a regular bed once Matthew gets to go make to the office, so there is room for a twin size bed.

My Aunt sent my this doily that my Granny made. (Jennie and I are named after her.) She was an amazing person....including a writer, and crafter with an very infectious laugh/smile.

"Mom take a picture of me with my train." He loves trains!

This is Annabelle our fish. (Not sure we have a picture of her.) She is still with us after almost 4 years (in June) and having ammonia burns because the ph was wrong in her tank. The kids have really grown attached to her.

I finally found some time and made masks for the family. We haven't had to use them much since we have stayed home for the most part.

The kids wanted to do an escape room type activity. Jennie put one together with a little help from me. The kids loved the prize of chocolate at the end.

We attempted to make Regina's hair curly with rollers, but she got impatient. But the picture is so cute.

We have been getting free lunches from the school which means we have more milk than we need plus string cheese. The milk has been used for cereal and to make chocolate milk from time to time. The string cheese sticks we made into breaded mozzarella sticks.

We have had time to craft and create. We bought air dry clay and made  various items. Once they dried we were able to paint them. The kids thought it was a fun experience and can't wait to do it again.
