Jennie's Baptism

The days before Jennie became a member of our family were filled with snow storms and worry that we wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital. So it was fitting that the days leading to her baptism were filled with the same emotions. The entire week before her big day was filled with cancelled school and more snow. Extended family that wanted to travel in weren't able to make the drive due to unsafe roads. Jennie was sad that they couldn't make it, but she knew the ordinance of baptism was more important than having everyone watch her make that covenant. The people who made it where family members that lived very close by---and it took some of them over an hour to get there when it would normally would take them less than 30 mins.

Jennie and Matthew getting special instructions from the Stake---Jennie was excited because she got to be the person to demonstrate how to be baptized in front of the other kids. (She said, "It was like getting baptized twice even though it didn't seem like Daddy was too thrilled about doing it.")

Grandma Wild made Jennie's confirmation dress out of a curtain fabric and some left over fabric which seems fitting since that was the same for Jennie's baby blessing dress. Grandma and Grandpa Conde gave her a beautiful CTR necklace that she wore while she was getting confirmed. (These pictures were taken before the baptism program started.)

Matthew Conde performed the baptism with Kris Jones and Rick Jones as the witnesses. Matthew also performed the confirmation with Kris Jones, Rick Jones, Harold Hegerhorst, Jerry Boyce, Kip Dribnak, and Rob Coleman participating in the circle. After she was confirmed, Jennie said, "She felt so happy and that she was glowing inside."

We are so proud of our Jennie Girl for making this commitment with her Heavenly Father. We spent our Family Home Evenings the year before her baptism making sure she knew the covenants she was making and even the Bishop could tell that Jennie was in deed ready to take this important step in following the example of our Savior.
