December Fun 2021

As always, December is a busy month, but full of fun events.

Some how, I found time to sew a dress for myself--it even has pockets!

We went to the Caldwell Light Parade, but didn't get there in time to find a good spot, so we watched in the car from a distance. The kids were bummed that they didn't get to have candy, but they were happy that we stayed warm.

For the Ward Christmas Party, Regina got to be an angel in the Nativity scene. She was so excited until she found out that she had not speaking part.

We bought a chocolate bomb making kit. It was fun spending time learning how to make them with Regina. They all said that they tasted great!

Bruce worked hard at school to make his Salt-Dough Map of Idaho. 

Matthew and I got to chaperone Regina's 6th grade Christmas Party. The upper classmen had a dance during the same time and the smoke machine set off the fire alarms. The fire department had to come out so we got a picture with the truck.

The Parks and Rec department made a great list of Christmas lights around town, so we spent an evening following the map. A few of us didn't make it for the whole time--but who can blame them, it was a long route.

Ugly sweater day at school! The younger two let me take the picture, but refused to wear them to school. Apparently, they weren't ugly enough.

Kyle's kindergarten teacher is amazing! She had parents come help make gingerbread houses with their student. Kyle thought it was so fun that we didn't need gingerbread since we were using milk cartons instead.

Bruce has been in to Legos a lot recently. So much that somethings he gets distracted by them in the mornings. I didn't pay much attention to his building, but happened to be in his room and notices his creations. Not pictured is a Pete the Cat statue that actually moves its head and arms.

It finally snowed..a couple of days after Christmas. The kids were in heaven playing with the neighbor kids in it. Plus they were nice enough to shovel the driveway for me.

And of course Hot Chocolate is a must after playing in the snow!

This New Year's Eve, we let the kids stay up until Midnight. To keep himself awake, Kyle said we needed to make funny faces. It worked! We saw the Potato Drop on TV and then went right to bed.

 

Another year done and onto the next. We haven't figured out our plans yet, but we know they'll be great since we'll be together.
