Coos Bay Oregon Trip 2020

We needed a break from the heat and our daily activities so we took a quick trip to the Ocean. Luckily, some family lives on the Oregon Coast which made it is even more logical to visit.
But before we could got to the Oregon Coast, we had to check off the High Desert Museum in Bend, from our bucket list.

Years ago, Matthew's family took a picture in this very spot. Then about 8 years ago, we took a picture in this spot with our growing family--two girls and a very pregnant me.

Our next stop was the Sea Lion Caves in Florence, Oregon. The kids loved seeing the ocean from the car---most of them don't remember what the ocean looked and smelled like.

Everywhere but the beach we had to wear masks, but we took them off to take pictures.

The next day, we headed to the beach---Bastendorff Beach. The weather was perfect. The kids had a major sensory over load with the sand and had to be reminded several times not to throw it.
We bought cheap kites and attempted to fly them. There was no wind--which isn't normal. Kyle and Regina got theirs to "fly" if they kept running.

With the help of Matthew, the kids built two sandcastles.

While walking on the beach, Emma found an injured bird.

Tip #293874: Baby Powder helps to brush off excess sand. I think I used an entire bottle after the boys just had to make sand angels.

The next day, we drove up to Winchester Bay and toured a light house.

But the day wasn't complete without eating ice cream at the docks.
On our last day, we drove to Bandon to visit the West Coast Game Safari Park.

And of course, we had to get fresh seafood...well Matthew got fresh seafood. The rest of us had chicken strips.
