South Dakota Trip--Part One

Our trip began as soon as the older kids got our of school. I picked them up and Matthew from work, then we headed to stay the night in Idaho Falls.
Since we were driving through Wyoming, We began our trip to South Dakota with a visit to Teton National Park. Even though it is just south of Yellowstone, they are completely different. We didn't see any wildlife but a marmot and that was at the end of the day.
The kids' favorite part of the day was spending time throwing rocks into the water since it was too cold to go swimming.

While we were driving, we took a few detours. We got to herd some cows that got loose. Thankfully a semi-truck flashed his lights to let us know that the cow were up ahead or this could have ended badly.
Our next stop was Mammoth Springs Dig Site. We enjoyed learning about Mammoths and Short Nosed Bears during our tour.
