Yeah for Snow!!!

This month (January), we have been focusing our project time around the theme of winter. When the month first started, it was really hard to explain the concept of winter time, since the sun was shining and the birds were out. However this past week, snow made an appearance for a couple of days.

We built a snowman just before Church on the first day of snow. It was a funny sight to see. Imagine my girls dressed in their Sunday best with hats, mittens, and tennis shoes (we have no boots) and me in my Sunday clothes busy making a pint size snowman with pennies for the eyes and nose. (I wouldn't normally have done this activity on a Sunday, but I was nervous the snow would be gone by Monday.)

However, we were blessed with more snow to play in on Monday--I actually got pictures! Jennie LOVED playing in it and even made a snow angel without any prompting for me. Regina wasn't too sure about the snow. She didn't want to sit in it, but she was happy to taste it off the shovel every once in a while. The snow didn't last much longer than Monday afternoon--it started to rain and turned into a huge slushy mess for us to run errands in on Tuesday. (Jennie liked jumping in the puddles every time we got out of the car. We were all very wet when we finally made it home.)
