August 2018 Fun

August was a busy month of having fun! After celebrating Regina's Birthday and having her baptism, Matthew's brother and his family came to visit.

We had a great time eating at some of our favorite places, and going to the best arcade, Grinkers.

  

While they were here, the kids played in the swimming pool and we all played tons of card and board games. 

Sometimes, you just have to be silly and taking funny faces is the best.

The girls made their own living room in their room. They were so proud of their couch. This set-up lasted for about a week before they wanted their floor space back.

Before school started, we went to the zoo. The kids love seeing the animals and telling me all the facts that they know.

The penguins were their favorite animals this time.

The week before school started, Cody and Kyle would crash after our adventures. They were working hard to keep up with the older siblings.

On August 18th, we went to the Hegerhorst Family Reunion. It was good to see cousins, but it was great to catch up with siblings, especially the ones who live so far away.

We went to the War Hawk Air Show here in town. It was neat to see old World War II planes up close and see them flying over head.

This picture says it all. Some of us were trying to have a great time. While others were trying to make our lives miserable. (That face happened a lot this summer)

Legos bring everyone together. After dinner one night, the kids spent most of the evening building with Matthew. They loved building and talking about random things---True family bonding.

Once School Started, Cody and Kyle have bee stuck with Mom to entertain them. Cody has had a hard time with Bruce being gone all day. He keeps wanting me to play with him and doesn't think Kyle is big enough to play with him. We have had a few fun adventures. One of these adventures has been taking our remote control trucks to the dirt park. They didn't do very well in the dirt, so we gave up and went to the Train Depot Museum.

We got to go inside a caboose that was restored to what it looked liked in 1942.
