June 2012 Vacation

To celebrate Matthew's graduating, we took a small vacation. We headed to Tumalo State Park for our first family camping trip. Since I am over 34 weeks pregnant, we decided it was best to rent a yurt instead of sleeping in a tent. (I was very thankful for this and it was nice to have the use of a heater at night for the girls)

Regina eating her first S'more

Matthew realizing that his girls wake up really early in the morning

Jennie relaxing in her bed---she was so excited that they had bunk beds
Since we were close to Bend, OR, we decided to visit the High Desert Museum during our vacation. It was a great interactive museum for the girls.

Jennie, Daddy, and Smokey the Bear

Regina enjoying one of the exhibits

Jennie and Daddy helping with the work carving---Jennie was really into this and wanted to do it again

Our family at the Museum
After the museum, we headed back to camp and played in the river. Jennie LOVED the water once she got used to it being so cold. Regina took longer to "warm" up to the idea of the cold water.

Daddy and his girls
We spent two nights in the yurt and then a couple nights in hotels. While waiting for the hotel in Bend, OR, we went to the movies. This was the girls first time in the movie theater. Jennie loved the idea of watching a movie and eating popcorn with her daddy.

Jennie watching the previews

Regina didn't make it very long in the theater so she spent part of the movie in the arcade area with her mommy

Looks like fun, hope you will want to go camping again, I can't believe how beautiful the lake is and blue, amazing even in the pictures.... I tried to explain to doug what a yurt was, thanks for posting some pics...
